Mrs. Ashley Thompson graduated from North Carolina State University in 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in K-12 Spanish and ESL Education. She began her teaching career at Wakefield High School where she taught Spanish 1 through Advanced Placement for 10 years. She obtained her Master's Degree in Spanish Literature and Linguistics in 2010. In 2016, she began a new chapter in her educational career at Louisburg Elementary School as an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher. She has served ESL students from Louisburg Elementary, Laurel Mill Elementary, Royal Elementary, Long Mill Elementary and is now excitedly serving Franklinton Elementary and Franklinton High School students. She loves to travel with her husband, learn new technology tools and play outside with her kiddos!

Ms. Bethea has been at Franklinton Elementary for 18 years. She grew up in Louisburg and is a product of Franklin County Schools. Ms. Bethea graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Elementary Education. She achieved National Board Certification in Early Literacy. Later, Ms. Bethea graduated from Queens University with her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership. After spending 14 years in the classroom teaching 4th, 3rd, and 2nd grade students, she decided to become an Instructional Coach. So now she gets to work with teachers and students! Aside from work, Ms. Bethea lives in Louisburg and loves to spend time with her family and friends. She has a dog named Lucy and a cat named Minnie! You will love to hear stories about them!

Rachel Smyth has been a Speech Therapist in the school system for 11 years. She has a passion for supporting the development of communication in children. She has experience working with children of all ages in a variety of settings including public schools, outpatient clinics, preschool centers, and homes. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, pets, being outside, and volunteering with a local animal rescue.
